Chevrolet Announces Next-Gen Bolt

America’s most affordable EV will return to Chevrolet’s growing lineup of all-electric vehicles

During the company’s quarterly earnings conference call, GM’s Chair and CEO, Mary Barra, revealed plans for an upcoming iteration of the Chevrolet Bolt that will uphold the brand’s commitment to providing customers with exceptional affordability, range, and technology.

Barra highlighted the current Bolt’s impressive performance, boasting record sales figures, outstanding customer satisfaction, and remarkable loyalty scores within the industry. She emphasized its role in attracting new customers to the Chevrolet brand, underscoring its significance.

In a bid to sustain this positive momentum, GM intends to introduce a new iteration of the Bolt with a more streamlined and efficient development process. By incorporating advancements from Ultium and Ultifi technologies and adhering to their ‘winning with simplicity’ approach, the company aims to expedite the release of this popular model. While specific details and timing for the next-generation Bolt will be disclosed later, it is set to join Chevrolet’s expanding range of all-electric vehicles. Notably, the Silverado EV, Blazer EV, and Equinox EV are also slated for launch this year.

Since its introduction to the market in 2017, the Chevrolet Bolt has disrupted the industry by being the first affordable, long-range, mass-produced EV available to consumers. The first half of 2023 has seen the strongest sales performance for the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV. Impressively, a significant proportion of Bolt owners exhibit brand loyalty to Chevy, with a substantial portion of buyers trading in non-GM vehicles for the Bolt.
