How GM EVs Can Use Tesla Superchargers

While GM EVs don’t yet have a built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector, drivers can easily access Superchargers using a GM-approved adapter, available for $225 through the myChevrolet, myGMC, or myCadillac apps. These mobile apps also allow drivers to locate Supercharger stations, pay for charging sessions, and monitor their vehicle’s charging status.

The adapter will initially be available in the U.S., with Canadian GM drivers gaining access later this year. This simple solution bridges the gap until GM EVs with native NACS connectors begin rolling out in 2026.

How Fast is the Charging?

Tesla Superchargers are known for their speed, but what can GM drivers expect? GM’s fast-charging capabilities depend on the vehicle model:

• Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV (BEV2-based vehicles): Expect up to 15 miles of range per 10 minutes of charging.
• Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Hummer EV (BT1-based trucks): These trucks boast higher peak charge rates, offering up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes.
• Cadillac Lyriq and Chevy Blazer EV (BEV3-based vehicles): Charging rates fall between the Bolt and Silverado, offering a balanced, efficient charge.
